Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) has been proposed as an alternative for use in managing GSM and SUI. This article reviews the biological basis, symptoms, and management of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), and investigates the current status and rationale for the use of PBMT to treat these conditions. The characteristics of the devices in current use and available clinical and histologic data are presented.
